It was the early months of 2021 when BMW introduced its new SUV model – a new X3 SUV variant for the Market. It is available in form of a BMW XDrive 30i SportX trim. As per the images that went viral on the internet and social media, they seem to suggest that the BMW X3 has a sporty look besides being a luxury. The images carried a military green finished paint representing the vehicle to be robust and strong.

BMW X3 Intro

BMW had showcased this all-new X-3 at the 2021 Auto Expo. BMW X3 is a crossover that seems to be available in the single diesel powertrain. Based on two new platforms, the Bavarian crossover is lighter than its predecessor. Introduced with the new design elements and cabin features, the brand new X3 is what everyone would go for. The sporty look, the comfort, the luxury, and the efficiency that it offers are remarkable.

The SUV is well refined with awesomely sculpted arches around the wheels, an angular shoulder line, and a sport bumper besides many other things. However, this new and modern X3 looks quite different from its predecessor. This SUV is rich with a pair of new dual-tone alloy wheels. It has a signature kidney grille in the front, LED fog lamps, LED headlamps, LED taillights, dual exhaust pipes, and a well-revised roof (a spoiler for most). 

The chrome-finished Kidney grille is larger than before, and the LED headlamps have a smooth curved design as compared to the previous models’ chiseled unit. This new BMW X3 has 18-inch wheels as standard. Even though the silhouette is not changed, the wheelbase sees an increase. 

At the rear, the LED taillights are quite similar to those on the other X models. A little spoiler on the tailgate adds to the overall appearance of the X3 as a sporty look. 

What’s new with the 2021 BMW X3?

The plug-in hybrid has an addition of eco-friendly nature and is the perfect car compared to its predecessor. Moreover, the car comes with active safety technology unlike before. Finally, the Android Auto makes an appearance in the BMW X3. The competition trim inclusive of all the others is shuffled into this one-line item package. The BMW X3 has better and conventional two-box styling which is nearly the same as what BMW has its other larger SUVs as well as the other range of coupes.

This BMW X3 comes in diverse flavors- the ones that are with the dealer a lot and the one that is specific for the taste. The different models are- xDrive30i and xDrive30e. The swap of letters, in the end, indicates that the latter has an addition of an electric motor along with a lithium-ion battery pack. 

Interior & Infotainment System

The car gets a new iDrive 9 operating system, an Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a 12.3-inch digital instrument set, a 16-speaker Surround Sound System of Harman Kardon, gesture control, and much more. The wireless charging equipment, ambient lightning for a pleasant feel, and the automatic climate control of the SUV make it more sought after! 

The cabin is like any other typical BMW which offers a floating infotainment system. In addition to it, it has a smartphone connectivity feature, premium leather upholstery, and much more. The sound system is 600W- lovely, isn’t it? With this X3, BMW also encourages the offer of “Display Key” besides the welcome lights and the climate control features for three zones. The boot capacity of the BMW X3 is estimated to be 550 litre. However, it can be expanded up to1600 litre if you fold the 40:20:40 seats in the rear. 

Engine & Performance

Although so much has changed in the SUV, the mechanicals seems to have no upgrade. The facelifted X3 has the same 2.0 litre four-cylinder Twin Power Turbo Petrol Engine. It gives about 248bhp of horsepower and about 360 Nm of torque when paired with the best eight-speed Steptronic automatic transmission. BMW claims that it can jump from 0 to 10km per hour in just 6.3 seconds. Whilst, the other 2.0 litre Turbo Diesel Engine gives about 184bhp of power and 400 Nm of torque.

Other hardware included in the BMW is the six air bags, driving modes, rear view camera with parking assistance, hill descent and ascent control, and an adaptive suspension. The automatic emergency braking feature is the most standard feature, even though BMW ends up charging a little extra for adaptive cruise control.
